The opening ceremony of the 6th season of Indian Premier League (IPL) took place on the evening of 2 April 2013 in the Eden Gardens in the city of Kolkata. The ceremony is to start at 7pm local time (2.30pm BST) on Tuesday.The ceremony was designed by Wizcraft Entertainment, and began at 19:30 IST, lasting almost two and half hours.The tickets for the ceremony were priced at INR1,500,000 (US$28,000) and were available online at the official website of the IPL from 16 March 2013. Similar to the previous versions, the captains of the nine participating teams took the "MCC Spirit of Cricket" pledge.
